What’s New for ‘13
All variants feature a hybrid powertrain combining a 2.0L 4-cyl. engine with a permanent-magnet electric motor powered by a lithium-ion battery pack.
The Energi variant features plug-in capability that helps make electric-only range the longest of any hybrid vehicle, according to Ford, with a total battery/engine driving range of up to 500 miles (805 km).
The lithium-ion battery pack is 25% to 30% smaller and 50% lighter than a similar nickel-metal-hydride battery pack, helping extend electric driving range.
Standard features include 10 airbags, among them driver and front-passenger knee bags.
Energi owners will be able to maintain constant contact with their vehicles through a special MyFord Mobile smartphone app.

The more aerodynamic redesigned model is built on a new world platform.
Standard powertrain features a revised 2.5L I-4 in combination with an upgraded 6-speed automatic gearbox designed to offer greater manual shift control.
Optional engines include 1.6L and 2.0L turbocharged I-4s, also mated with the 6-speed automatic transmission.
New technology includes optional Curve Control, that automatically slows the vehicle if entering a curve too fast, and Torque Vectoring Control which helps maintain control while accelerating through a turn.
A revised AWD system improves on-road handling under all road conditions and provides better off-road capability.
Working in combination with the keyless entry/start system, an optional hands-free liftgate opens when the driver kicks a foot under the center of the rear bumper.

The redesigned model lineup includes two hybrid variants: A conventional model and a plug-in hybrid called Energi.
Increased interior space provides more leg, hip and shoulder room.
A 2.5L I-4 is standard in conventional models coupled with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Optional engines include a turbocharged 1.6L I-4, available with 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions, and a 2.0L turbocharged I-4 in combination with a paddle-shifted 6-speed automatic transmission.
New technology includes an optional Lane Keeping System that alerts the driver when the car is too close to lane markings. If no action is taken the system vibrates the steering wheel and, ultimately, applies pressure to bring the car back into proper lane position.

The new Interceptor replaces the aging Crown Victoria. It is available in both a sedan, based on a modified Taurus, and a utility vehicle, based on a modified Explorer.
The sedan is powered by a base 3.5L V-6 in either front- or all-wheel-drive configurations, or the 3.5L twin-turbo EcoBoost V-6, which is available only in all-wheel-drive.
The utility vehicle is powered by a 3.7L V-6 with standard all-wheel-drive. All three engines are more powerful and fuel efficient than the 4.6L SOHC V-8 engine they replace.

A new 2.0L EcoBoost turbocharged I-4 is optional on SE, SEL and Limited variants.
The exterior is updated with new grille, hood and taillamp designs, while larger wheels and tires improve appearance and handling of non-SHO models.
SHO models come with a unique grille design, while the optional Performance Package adds upgraded brakes, 20-in. wheels with summer performance tires and an enhanced cooling system.
A larger master cylinder and recalibrated power boost provide shorter pedal travel and improved “feel” on all models.
The standard Torque Vectoring system uses a small amount of brake pressure on the inside front wheel to improve handling dynamics while accelerating through a curve.
Curve Control technology automatically slows the car if it determines the driver has inadvertently entered a curve to fast to maintain control.
