Both models are built on a new, more rigid, platform that helps provide better ride and handling.
The 3.5L V-6 in the standard and hybrid variants has been recalibrated to improve throttle response and increase fuel economy.
The GS 350 transmission has been revised to incorporate a new Lexus Drive Mode unit that allows the driver to select among multiple performance options.
The Eco setting revises throttle mapping, climate control and transmission shifting to provide better fuel economy compared with the Normal mode; Sport S alters response to take full advantage of the powertrain, while Sport S + (optional) alters the setting of the adaptive suspension as well as steering, stability control and engine/transmission response for maximized vehicle performance.
GS 450h offers the same driving-dynamics modes at the GS 350, plus an EV mode that maximizes operation of the electric-drive system.
All models feature a new multi-link rear suspension and make extensive use of aluminum suspension components.
