You should have driven the 400 hp 3.0T Lincoln engine in the MKZ application.

Awesome!

We did drive it, as well as the Continental, which has the same engine, mikes58. Yes, it's a storming good engine. But NVH and observed fuel economy were better in the Infiniti Q50, also equipped with a 400-hp 3.0T.

Is the Ford 5.4 V-8 on the Worst List?

on May 18, 2017

I understand ford has redesigned the 3.5L, V6 Ecoboost engine to a dual port injection system for 20107 but only for the f-150. I have a concern about the engine in my new explorer and I can't get ford to acknowledge I even have a problem. Do you have any resources that I can turn to that can help me to get ford to allow an after market oil catch can system? I'm quite sure that some of these will solve any future problems I can have but so far, Ford won't budge. They could put that engine in the explorer and I'm quite sure things would be better. Seems the f-150 is the hot item people want so they went there first. A shame, the explorer is very good at what we want in creature comfort but the engine having valve problems because of oil caking on them is not what I want in my future. Any help you can offer would be most appreciated.

Sorry to hear of your frustrations, Clarence. Does your Explorer Sport have 3.5L EcoBoost, and is it a '16 or '17? Have you had any valve problems yet, or is your concern based on problems you've heard about from other consumers?
