American Axle earnings rise on strong truck market


DETROIT, July 24 (Reuters) - Auto parts maker American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings Inc. said on Thursday its quarterly earnings rose as production of light trucks, its primary market, remained robust. The maker of components for the Dodge Ram pickup and Hummer H2 sport utility vehicle said its second-quarter net income rose to $51.0 million, or 97 cents a share, from $48.6 million, or 92 cents a share, a year ago.
