Austrian builder Strabag misses expectations, reiterates outlook

VIENNA, Nov 29 (Reuters) - Austrian builder Strabag reported a 3 percent decline in third-quarter output on Friday as the European construction market worsened and price competition intensified.

Strabag, which had a tough first half because of flooding in central Europe, said output was 3.97 billion euros ($5.40 billion), missing the average estimate of 4.16 billion euros in a Reuters poll.

The company said it expected full-year output to "nearly" reach last year's level of 14 billion euros, and reiterated its forecast for full-year earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) of at least 260 million euros. ($1 = 0.7353 euros) (Reporting by Georgina Prodhan, editing by Elizabeth Piper)
