What’s New for ’12

The Verano marks Buick’s entry into the compact luxury segment and is the first small car produced by the brand in over 10 years. Sales are slated to begin in 4th-quarter 2011.

It shares the Delta II platform with the Chevrolet Cruze and Opel Astra, but is longer, taller and wider.

There is only one powertrain, a direct-injected 2.4L 4-cyl. with dual independent variable valve timing and E85 capability, which is coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Hydraulic ride bushings, an isolated engine cradle, acoustical laminated glass, triple door seals, nylon baffles with sound-absorbing foam, 5-layer acoustical headliner, fiberglass door blankets and specially tuned intake and exhaust manifolds all contribute to low noise, vibration and harshness levels.
