Autonation posts higher quarterly profit

DETROIT, July 28 (Reuters) - Car dealership Group Autonation Inc. posted higher earnings on Thursday, boosted by growth in revenue and gross profit.

The largest U.S. automotive retailer said second-quarter earnings from continuing operations rose to $106 million, or 40 cents per share, from $97 million, or 35 cents per share, in the year-earlier quarter.
