Bridgestone says to cancel 20 mln common shares


TOKYO, Feb 17 (Reuters) - Bridgestone Corp. , Japan's top tire maker, said on Friday it would cancel 20 million of its own common shares, worth about 44.2 billion yen ($374 million) based on the issue's closing price earlier in the day. It currently holds these shares as treasury stock. The number of shares to be cancelled would account for 2.4 percent of its outstanding stock. ($1=118.21 Yen)
