Canada funds Linamar to help make green powertrains

OTTAWA, Sept 21 (Reuters) - Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced C$54.8 million ($50.7 million) in aid to autoparts maker Linamar Corp on Monday to help it develop green and fuel-efficient automotive powertrains.

The repayable contribution will help leverage up to C$365 million in investment, Harper said at the opening of Linamar's research and development center in Guelph, Ontario.
