Cast parts shortage hits Daimler car, truck output


STUTTGART, Germany, Dec 17 (Reuters) - A shortage of cast parts has forced Daimler AG to curtail temporarily the output of some cars and trucks in Germany, the company said on Monday. Some production had closed and holiday stoppages would be extended by a few days at three plants. A spokeswoman for Mercedes-Benz confirmed a report by the Rheinpfalz newspaper that output of some models at the car plants in Sindelfingen and Bremen would stay shut for two to five days longer than normal at ...
