China Dongfeng to raise over $1bln in HK IPO-paper

SHANGHAI, Feb 17 (Reuters) - China's third-largest carmaker Dongfeng Motor Corp is planning to raise more than $1 billion from a Hong Kong initial public offering, the official Shanghai Securities News quoted company sources as saying on Tuesday.

The company will probably list by the end of this year, banking sources in Hong Kong had said on Monday.

China International Capital Corp, the Beijing-based investment banking joint venture between China Construction Bank and Wall Street's Morgan Stanley , has been retained by the carmaker as an adviser, the sources said, which would give the bank an inside track to be one of the deal's underwriters.
