Continental makes 227 mln euro bid for Phoenix AG


FRANKFURT, March 29 (Reuters) - Germany's Continental AG on Monday launched a 227 million euro ($276.5 million) bid for rubber and plastics products maker Phoenix , saying it had commitments for some 37 percent of the shares. The German tyres and auto parts group said in a statement it was making its 15 euro-per-share bid contingent on achieving 75 percent of the shares in issue -- 15.17 million, according to Reuters data.
