DaimlerChrysler recalls 1,650 Smart cars


FRANKFURT, June 22 (Reuters) - DaimlerChrysler has recalled 1,650 of its new-generation Smart minicar because of possible steering defects, the company said on Friday. A Smart spokesman said all the cars' owners had been notified that a part may not have been installed properly, which could have led to steering failure.
