Daimlerchrysler says can make 300,000 A-class cars


FRANKFURT, June 28 (Reuters) - DaimlerChrysler can build 300,000 of its new Mercedes A-class compact car each year at its Rastatt plant, Mercedes Car Group head Juergen Hubbert said on Monday at the unveiling of the model in Greece. The Mercedes boss said that after the company failed to cover the cost of its investment for the first generation of the car, it would make a profit on the new model early in its life-cycle.
