Decoma bids 10 million euros for Peguform assets

TORONTO, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Decoma International Inc. , a Canadian autoparts maker, said on Friday it made a 10 million euro ($10.8 million, or C$16.4 million) bid for certain assets and businesses of France's financially troubled Peguform.

In a release, Decoma said had bid 6 million euros for Peguform's fascia manufacturing business and fixed and intangible assets, and also bid up to 4 million euros for the work-in-progress, raw materials and finished goods inventory of the autoparts company.

Peguform, which is currently in receivership, operates four manufacturing facilities in France and had sales of about 160 million euros last year.

Decoma, which makes exterior car bumpers and body panels and is controlled by parts giant Magna International Inc. , said it expects several competing bidders, and so could not assess the likelihood of its success. The bid is also subject to due diligence and regulatory and board approvals.

Decoma shares finished up 7 Canadian cents at C$13.13 on the Toronto Stock Exchange on Friday.
