Dollar Thrifty first-qtr earnings double


DETROIT, April 28 (Reuters) - Car rental company Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Inc. on said Thursday first-quarter earnings doubled due to increased travel and gains from recent acquisitions. The company, which includes Dollar Rent A Car and Thrifty Car Rental, said earnings rose to $13.0 million, or 49 cents per share, from $6.5 million, or 25 cents per share, in the year-ago quarter.
