Dollar Thrifty quarterly earnings fall

DETROIT, July 28 (Reuters) - Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Inc. , one of the largest U.S. car rental companies, on Thursday posted lower second-quarter profit, partly due to pressure on prices.

The Tulsa, Oklahoma-based company, whose brands include Dollar Rent A Car and Thrifty Car Rental, said earnings fell to $11.3 million, or 43 cents a share, from $17.9 million, or 68 cents per share, in the year-ago quarter.
