EU exec hopes for early news on French car aid

BRUSSELS, Feb 27 (Reuters) - The European Commission said on Friday it was hopeful that there would be news "very soon" of a decision on France's plan to lend 6 billion euros ($7.6 billion) to its ailing carmakers.
