BRUSSELS, Sept 24 (Reuters) - Following cases have been added or deleted to the takeovers, mergers and joint ventures that are under review by the European Commission. (See at the end for a guide to the EU merger processes)

- Plans by American Express Financial Corporation, controlled by the American Express Company (AXP.N), to acquire control of British Threadneedle Asset Management Holdings Limited (cleared Sept 19).

- Plans by Vestar Capital Partners of the United States to purchase FL Selenia of Italy, a maker of automotive and industrial lubricants and replacement parts for vehicles (cleared Sept 19)

- Plans by Trelleborg of Sweden to purchase the polymer sealing solutions group of Smiths Group Plc of the United Kingdom (cleared Sept 19)

ADDITIONS

- Plans by ANC Rental to sell its Alamo Rent a Car and National Car Rental chains to private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management (notified Sept 19/deadline Oct 22)

- Plans by Italy to sell state-owned tobacco company Ente Tabacchi Italiani SpA to British American Tobacco Plc (notified Sept 15/deadline Oct 16)
