Fiat auto unit Q3 profit up, beating expectations

MILAN, Oct 24 (Reuters) - Italian industrial group Fiat said on Wednesday its core automotive business had a trading profit that more than doubled to 185 million euros ($262.9 million) in the third quarter, beating analysts' expectations.

Fiat also raised its targets for the year.

For the entire group, it said it expected trading profit to reach between 2.9 billion euros and 3.0 billion euros, compared to a previous forecast of 2.7 billion euros.
