MILAN, Feb 16 (Reuters) - Fiat will break the Maserati sportscar brand out of its Ferrari unit and link it more closely with its Alfa Romeo marque, the Italian industrial group said on Wednesday.
In a statement, Fiat said Maserati would continue to work with Ferrari on engines, technical projects and dealership networks.
The split is widely seen as a first step in a long-awaited listing of Ferrari.
