ROME, Feb 19 (Reuters) - Italy's troubled car maker Fiat would only consider renegotiating its put option with General Motors Corp. if there is a better alternative, said the CEO of Intesa BCI, one of Fiat's main creditor banks.
"The put is as it stands...but if a way can be worked out to come up with something better, it could be discussed," Corrado Passera told reporters Wednesday.
Passera also said MCC, the merchant banking division of Capitalia , another of Fiat's creditors, was advising Fiat on the sale of its insurance operation Toro.
