VANCOUVER, British Columbia, July 22 (Reuters) - Construction and mining equipment dealer Finning International Inc. reported a drop second second-quarter profit on Tuesday, as expenses ate into higher revenues.
The firm reported a net profit of C$32.7 million, 41 Canadian cents per share diluted, in the quarter ended June 30, compared with a net profit of C$34.7 million, or 44 Canadian cents per share, in the same period last year.
The company reported revenues of C$861.1 million, up from C$797.4 million.
Finning said that without C$5.1 million in pretax expenses, which it said were "not regarded as part of the core business of the company," it would have recorded higher earnings in the quarter of C$35.5 million.
