France says likely to boost carmakers' capital

PARIS, Jan 13 (Reuters) - France is likely to announce measures to boost carmakers' capital at a meeting on Jan. 20 aimed at helping the country's battered auto industry, Economy Minister Christine Lagarde said on Tuesday.

Asked about what would be annonced at the meeting, Lagarde told reporters: "It will have to do with improving financing for car credit, it will undoubtedly have to do with reinforcing carmakers' capital." (Reporting by Julien Ponthus; Francois Murphy)
