Freightliner to close Wis. fire truck plant

CHICAGO, Sept 27 (Reuters) - Freightliner, the truck manufacturing arm of DaimlerChrysler AG , will close its Wisconsin fire truck manufacturing plant, resulting in the loss of about 155 jobs, the company said in a filing with the state. The Shawano, Wisconsin, facility will close in March 2003 and its operations will be consolidated into other facilities within the company's American LaFrance fire truck division, according to the filing.
