French civil servants urged EADS stake cut in 2006

PARIS, Oct 3 (Reuters) - France's finance ministry recommended in January 2006 that the government sell part of its 15 percent stake in aerospace group EADS on valuation grounds, but the governmment decided against this, Finance Minister Christine Lagarde said on Wednesday.

Lagarde said the recommendation was made purely on the basis of the EADS share price at the time, and publicly available information, rather than any problems inside the group.
