French Oct new car registrations rise 8.4 percent

PARIS, Nov 2 (Reuters) - French new car registrations were up 8.4 percent in October to 173,154, or a rise of 3.5 percent on a same working-day basis, the CCFA car industry body said in a statement on Thursday.

But CCFA said the October rise, after a very bad September when registrations fell 13.3 percent, was not a sign of a rebound of the market which still lacked visibility.

Over the first 10 months of 2006, new car registrations were down 2 percent on a gross basis ...
