French pensioner drives 58 years without licence

NANTES, France, Sept 2 (Reuters Life!) - French police who stopped a 79-year old man on Wednesday discovered that he had been driving without a licence for nearly 60 years.

The driver was travelling with his wife near the Atlantic coast about 45 km (28 miles) from Nantes.

"The offender signed up for driving school in 1952, but never passed his test," a police source told Reuters.
