French PM says motorway sale plan cleared by court

PARIS, Sept 1 (Reuters) - French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin said on Thursday that France's highest state legal body had approved the government's plans to sell its stakes in three motorway operators.

"The Council of State in the parliament has just confirmed that the privatisation of the motorway companies was not in breach of the law. The measures taken were indeed the right ones," he said.
