NEW YORK, Nov 9 (Reuters) - New York platinum futures rose to a 26-year high Wednesday morning, on technical buying by commodity speculators and anticipation of rising demand for use in diesel catalytic converters .
Sister metal palladium also rose, with silver and gold lagging behind the two metals which are key components of anti-pollution systems in motor vehicles. Platinum is also popular in fine jewelry.
