NEW YORK, Sept 11 (Reuters) - The average retail price of a gallon of gasoline in the United States has surged to a record high on both a nominal and inflation-adjusted price basis, an industry analyst said on Sunday.
The national average for self-serve, regular unleaded gas was $3.0117 a gallon on Sept. 9, up 38.44 cents from two weeks ago, according to the nationwide Lundberg survey of about 7,000 gas stations.
