BERLIN, May 11 (Reuters) - After weeks of public debate about the health impact of diesel exhaust fumes, the German federal cabinet approved on Wednesday tax breaks for particle filters that capture the harmful soot from diesel motors.
The government backed Finance Minister Hans Eichel's draft legislation that as of 2006 would give motorists a tax break of 250 euros for fitting filters on old cars and of 350 euros for buying new cars equipped with them, a government source ...
