BERLIN, May 5 (Reuters) - Germany's cabinet wants to commit billions of euros to boost the electric auto sector so that 1 million cars are registered by 2020, a newspaper said on Thursday.
Without naming its sources, mass-selling Bild daily reported that Chancellor Angela Merkel's cabinet would late this month agree to eliminate motor vehicle tax on the cars for their first ten years of registration.
