German car firms warn Siemens on VDO option -paper

FRANKFURT, March 11 (Reuters) - German car manufacturers are pressuring Siemens not to consider private equity buyers in its plan to sell part of its automotive engineering unit VDO, a German newspaper reported on Sunday.

Siemens has said it plans an initial public offering of between 25 and 50 percent of VDO but this week said it had also received notice that financial investors were interested in the unit, though no concrete suggestions had been put forward.
