BERLIN, June 4 (Reuters) - Germany's car lobby group softened its stance on European Commission plans to cut auto carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions on Wednesday saying it no longer opposed the move, a day before EU politicians discuss it.
The Commission has proposed rules to cap emissions at 120 grammes per km on average from 2012 and fines for non-compliance, steps the VDA lobby previously strongly opposed.
