German DAX reweighting boosts Siemens to top spot

FRANKFURT, June 19 (Reuters) - Siemens AG took over the top spot in the blue-chip DAX index from Allianz AG on Wednesday after the German bourse rejigged its index weightings to account for the number of freely tradable shares.

According to a preliminary list of weightings by Frankfurt bourse operator Deutsche Boerse AG , the weighting of electronics and engineering firm Siemens on the 30-stock DAX board will rise to 11.50 percent from 8.84 percent.
