PFORZHEIM, Germany, Feb 12 (Reuters) - German industrial union IG Metall and engineering sector employers have agreed a 26-month pay deal increasing wages by 2.2 percent from March 2004 and by 2.76 from March 2005, IG Metall said on Thursday.
The deal, reached after marathon talks in the southwestern state of Baden-Wuerrtemberg, averts the threat of a full strike that could have dented Germany's nascent economic recovery.
