BERLIN, July 31 (Reuters) - The German Foreign Ministry said on Friday German firms should not stop staff demonstrating in Iranian anti-government protests after a construction firm threatened to fire employees who did.

Construction company Knauf Gips this month warned its Iranian employees in Iran that they would be dismissed immediately if caught at protests, which erupted after a disputed presidential election in June.
