BERLIN, Sept 4 (Reuters) - The German government said on Thursday it wanted to hold talks with carmaker DaimlerChrysler AG about the planned sale of its aero-engine business MTU, as bidders fret about Berlin's opposition to a foreign takeover.
DaimlerChrysler said last month it was talking to five investors about the sale of MTU, but sources have said the process has slowed with bidders put off by German government concerns about defence know-how falling into foreign hands.
