German new car registrations down 14 pct in May-VDA

FRANKFURT, June 11 (Reuters) - The VDA German automobile association said on Tuesday new car registrations fell 14 percent year-on-year in May to 284,000 units.

Exports fell seven percent year-on-year to 292,600 units, while production fell 16 percent to 400,300 units.

In the first five months of this year, new car registrations were five percent lower than year-ago levels at 1,386,800 units.
