German tax law change to give boost to Volkswagen

HAMBURG, Dec 14 (Reuters) - Volkswagen , the world's fourth-largest carmaker, expects to book a non-cash special gain of 951 million euros ($1.26 billion) this year from a change in the German tax law, the company said on Thursday.

"That has no impact on the profit forecast," a spokeswoman said.

Volkswagen is targeting an unspecified rise in operating profit before special items for 2006.
