BERLIN, March 19 (Reuters) - The German government said on Wednesday it still thought a law that shields carmaker Volkswagen from takeovers conformed to EU law after the EU Commission started legal action against it.
"According to the German government, there are no doubts on the compatibility of the VW law with European law," government spokesman Bela Anda told a regular news conference.
