Germany doubts EU code creates level playing field

BERLIN, Oct 2 (Reuters) - The German government said on Wednesday it doubted whether a new draft takeover code adopted by the European Commission would create a level playing field among member states.

A government spokesman said the code would effectively prevent German firms from shielding themselves from takeover bids.
