BERLIN, Oct 19 (Reuters) - Germany is a long way off taking a state stake in the troubled aerospace firm EADS , parent of Airbus, Transport Minister Wolfgang Tiefensee said on Thursday. "We are a long way away from that," Social Democrat Tiefensee said.
The German government has faced hefty criticism at home and abroad over plans to bail out the company by buying up a portion of its shares from core EADS shareholder DaimlerChrysler .
