BERLIN, March 9 (Reuters) - German drivers of older diesel-powered cars will be encouraged to equip their vehicles with exhaust particle filters after lawmakers in the Bundesrat upper house of parliament approved new rules on Friday.
From April 1, the government will offer a one-off tax rebate to the owners of older diesel cars who fit the equipment in an effort to reduce harmful traffic pollution.
