Germany urges monitoring of EU car rules impact

BERLIN, July 17 (Reuters) - German Economy Minister Werner Mueller said the German government saw some problems with new rules on car distribution approved by the European Commission on Wednesday and called for careful monitoring of their impact.

"I urge the Commission to take seriously its self-obligation (to monitor the impact of the rules). Regulations that damage small and medium sized businesses should not enter into force," Mueller said in a statement.
