Germany wants EU to ban off-roader bull-bars

BERLIN, Aug 7 (Reuters) - Metal bull-bars on the front of off-road or sports utility vehicles (SUVs) are a danger to pedestrians and Germany wants the European Union to ban them, a transport ministry spokesman said on Wednesday.

"This kind of nonsense has no place on the road and poses a threat to weaker road-users such as pedestrians, children and cyclists," a ministry spokesman told a news conference.

Bull-bars are front guards which cover the grille of an SUV or 4x4 ...
