FRANKFURT, May 11 (Reuters) - German new car registrations rose 3.4 percent to 297,126 vehicles in April, the country's motor vehicle department KBA said on Tuesday.
"The positive growth rates give rise to hope of a sustained recovery," the department said in a statement.
For the first four months of the year, new car registrations -- which mirror sales -- declined 1.1 percent to 1.06 million vehicles from the year-ago period.
