MUNICH, Aug 17 (Reuters) - Germany's MAN , Europe's third-largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, is not interested in acquiring a stake in larger Swedish rival Volvo , MAN said on Thursday. "We deny an interest in Volvo," a spokesman for the company said.
Market speculation that a U.S.-based Swedish financier was on the lookout for interested parties willing to take a joint stake in Volvo helped drive MAN shares up almost 3 percent to more than 60 euros.
