FRANKFURT, March 5 (Reuters) - German mining and chemicals group RAG [RUHR.UL] plans to build up a new core energy unit from its Steag domestic coal-to-power generation and RAG Saarberg power and gas assets, the company said on Friday.
The two units would operate alongside the Essen-based group's chemicals, real estate and hard coal mining divisions, a spokesman told Reuters in confirmation of media reports following a supervisory board meeting.
